Thierry de La Tour d'Artaise, President of Groupe SEB, in the presence of elected officials and local partners, unveiled the Group's new refurbishment activity in Is-sur-Tille. Groupe SEB is the first French manufacturer of small domestic appliances to implement an integrated refurbishment model. The industrial site is part of a forward-looking model while remaining true to the Group's DNA and showcases its commitments to eco-design, repairability, and durability.
A pioneer in the field of repairability and durability of its products, Groupe SEB continues its efforts by launching its first European center dedicated to the refurbishment of its electrical products, a first in the small domestic equipment market. Groupe SEB thus controls its entire value chain, from production to marketing, including the collection of product returns and their refurbishment. This European-scale ambition involves seven Group subsidiaries: France, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium & Italy; which is fully aligned with the new CSR ambition 2024-2030 "Act for better living."
As of early April 2025, 65 product references were already back on sale on the websites of iconic brands (Rowenta, Calor, Moulinex, Krups, SEB, WMF) at prices 20% to 30% lower than their new equivalents. These products will be available in all physical or online stores of the Group. The medium-term objective is to reach 200 references across 40 product families, representing several hundred thousand refurbished products.
There are nearly 80 people mobilized across about twenty professions and departments within the Group (IT, logistics, finance, industry, human resources...) for the implementation of this new activity to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction (product identification and traceability).
At Is-sur-Tille first, employees underwent training to learn a new profession and become familiar with all the Group's electrical product families: laundry care, vacuum cleaning, etc. The on-site teams participated in reflections on new working methods with well-being and safety for all as a priority. To enable diagnosis, testing, cleaning, and if necessary repair, new workstations have emerged: the ROLLs. These ingenious and ergonomic carts allow products to be refurbished to circulate through the different stages of the process.
Regarding logistics flows, close collaboration between Is-sur-Tille and the three main European sorting centers has been established: Alençon (FRA), Solingen (GER) and Madrid (SPA). For spare parts, the proximity to the Faucogney-et-la-Mer site, the world center for spare parts storage, where more than 50,000 spare part references are available, ensures proximity and speed in task execution.
Is-sur-Tille, located 25 km north of Dijon in Côte-d'Or, is the global center of expertise for culinary electrical appliances for all Groupe SEB brands and becomes in 2025 the cradle of the new refurbishment activity. The site employs 140 people. This transformation was made possible thanks to the creation of a team of versatile experts, now qualified to refurbish all the Group's product families, thanks to training received at different production sites in France: Vernon (27) for vacuum cleaners, Mayenne (53) for food processors and bean-to-cup espresso machines, Pont-Evêque (38) for irons, steam generators and garment steamers.
