One of the flagship products of its time and an essential item in every kitchen, this was the first multifunctional blender to make meal preparation easier by mixing, squeezing, blending, whisking, mincing, chopping and emulsifying. The brand played a key role in the food preparation revolution.
Moulinex has a long history in food preparation dating back to 1932, when the vegetable masher Moulin à Légumes was launched. This was a simple yet ingenious product that could chop and mash any kind of cooked vegetable. It was an immediate success and the concept was soon applied to other uses, including a Moulinette to chop up raw foods. The first Moulinette electric chopper appeared in 1966. It was a great success in France and other countries.
The solution for preparing crispy chips at home without any unpleasant smells, thanks to the filter incorporated in the lid. The SEB fryer underwent a series of evolutions, including a dishwasher-proof removable pan and lid, a fryer that automatically filters and empties the oil, and now the current version of the fryer, which only needs a tiny amount of oil to make healthier meals.
The SEB Cocotte-Minute® pressure cooker was launched in Selongey in 1953. It has stood the test of time over the decades, adapting to new trends along the way. In the 1970s, the pressure cooker was available in different colours and subsequently with flowers and patterns in the spirit of Flower Power. Still today, it guarantees energy savings, while maintaining the nutritional value, taste and look of the ingredients. Since the very beginning, a recipe book has been supplied with each Cocotte-Minute® pressure cooker.
The waffle maker with removable non-stick plates was presented at the Salon des Arts Ménagers (a household arts exhibition) in Paris. The launch marked the beginning of a period of diversification of Tefal’s business activities, with the launch a few years later of several other products for making informal meals, including the raclette machine, crêpe-party pancake maker and the fondue set.
SEB makes life easier in the kitchen and prioritises home cooking. This ice cream maker guaranteed perfect ice cream for all the family. Its clever system of retractable blades mixed the ice cream until it reached the desired consistency.
The spotty green enamel exterior was designed to brighten up every 1970s kitchen. While the interior was non-stick. The first Tefal non-stick frying pan was sold in 1956. It became famous for its slogan “The Tefal frying pan: the pan that never sticks”.
This was soon considered to be an essential appliance hence its stylish design. Featuring lacquered white sides and orange ends, an adjustable thermostat and automatic centring and ejection, the appliance toasted all types of bread of any thickness, including thick slices of baguette.
A true pioneer when it first came on the market, this was the first automatic yoghurt maker. The ideal temperature for fermentation was reached after heating the appliance up for an hour, then the light switched off and, five to six hours later, the home-made yoghurts were ready.
An essential aid in the kitchen, this appliance could chop, mince, and slice any type of food. It was effective and easy to use with a simple press on the top needed to activate it. The compact appliance took up minimum space.
Its patented two-tier straining system and its automatic temperature control produced, in just a few hours, delicious home-made strained cream cheese with a truly authentic flavour.
